Painter and engraver, Cyril Desmet was born in Casablanca in 1950. He paints in a lovely and inspiring place, West of France.
After art studies in Paris (1968-1971), he travelled throughout Middle East and Western Africa (1972-1975).
He was initiated to engraving by Simone & Henri Jean (1986).
Since 1975, he regularly exhibits his work European wide and in Canada. He also creates posters for cultural events (photography, danse, cinema and litterature).
Cyril Desmet’s characters, either painted or engraved, on paper or canvas, always look up the sky, the clouds and the moon. His works represent a poetical phantasmagoria between the space and the earth, with ochre and brown materials in the background.
