Born in 1951 in Neuenhain, Elvira Bach is a German painter. She lives and works in Berlin.
Elvira Bach works on the image of women and their role in society.
She studied glass at the Staatliche Glasfachschule Hadamar and visual arts at the Berlin Academy of Arts. She worked as a prop and prompter for the theatre «Schaubühne am Halleschen Ufer» for almost ten years.
In 1982, the artist was the first woman invited to participate in the Documenta de Kassel. It was also that same year that she joined the artist residency of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic.
Soon after, she spent long stays in Senegal, where she married and Elvira Bach became the mother of two c
