For this series of engravings, Rainer Nepita only needed a few lines to highlight a natural phenomenon as vast as a continent. Drawing on the thin, cut-out silhouettes of leaves, flowers, seeds and pistils, the artist on sheets of paper seems to evoke the global cycle of plant life, from hatching to withering.

The differences in the thickness of the line and the use of various tools make it possible to arrange plans at the heart of these works. The finest traces could be the evocation of roots, rootlets or other rhizomes specific to the underground plant world.
