André BRICKA
Bricka was born 1922 in Strasbourg. He died in 1999.
Studied at the Arts Décoratifs.
Museums: Strasbourg, Germany, Luxembourg, European Council.
BRICKA, a man, a style. ” Paint as you talk, using your own voice! Only the one who persists in being themselves is right.”
André BRICKA adopted this rule of life without ever renouncing it.
He was the youngest student in the studio, as well as being the most talented.
BRICKA was an independent painter. Independent from schools and trends, he remained true to himself, true to the motherly and nourishing aspects of nature, and true to beauty, before which, each day, one man at least wonders before embracing it.
Appointed Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters in 1971, André BRICKA was the winner of the International Biennial Event of Tours where he was elected “Painter of Light” in 1986, and Winner of the 10th International Biennial Event of Lourdes, city of the Gemmail of Sacred Art.
