La galerie d’art L’Estampe à Strasbourg, créée en 1979 par Thierry Lacan, défend principalement des artistes de la nouvelle figuration, C’est aussi une maison d’édition : L’Estampe, qui possède l’unique atelier d’aquagravure en France.
Cette technique d’estampe très particulière a séduit de nombreux artistes. Ils en ont apprécié le volume, les différentes méthodes d’application de la couleur et toutes les possibilités qui en découlent.
Ainsi, de Corneille à Bogart , des artistes de la figuration narrative, Erro en tête, aux fondateurs de la figuration libre, Combas et Di Rosa, la maison d’édition l’Estampe rend hommage, avec exigence et fidélité aux grands initiateurs de l’art contemporain.

He was born in Paris in 1945 and spent his childhood travelling with his parents in a circus.
In 1968 he enrolled in the School of Fine Arts in Paris and devoted himself to engraving and painting. He now teaches the rudiments of the art of engraving at the school. Jean Pierry Tanguy’s work reflects all that he has seen during his years of travelling, often displaying the photographs that inspired each piece at his exhibitions. “This is the work of a life that is presented here.”
