Die Werke des Künstlers
Deutsche Übersetzung folgt in Kürze
The German-born artist Godwin Hoffmann works with very strict rules of composition. But his discipline doesn’t exclude traces of his brush strokes and paint runs: these, he says, are evidences of his pictorial gesture.
His rigorous approach to art plays with “forms” on paper.
“My artistic evolution has been determined by distance and abstraction,” he says. “On one side my quest for knowledge and truth inherited from my education, on the other side I look for the elementary, the origin, sensuality and the touch. Obtaining a thick black that seems to absorb all light, pretending to the absolute. This kind of work is very demanding.”
His work has been exhibited in galleries throughout the world.
