Alain Clement is a self-taught artist who started painting when he was 20.

He was born in 1941 in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France and taught at the Fine Arts School in Montpelier and then in Nimes during the 1970's and 80's.

During this time he established himself as an abstract painter with works that are very physical and brimming with energy.

Both space and colour are principles that sustain his works.

His paintings and sculptures are represented in many of the great public collections in France and abroad.
